Welcome to Hall of Fame Sunday! So I guess I’m just really enjoying baseball this month! This weeks Hall of Famer is non other than Jackie Robinson! You know him and you love him! Jack 🤪 Roosevelt Robinson was an American professional baseball player who became the first African-American to play in major league baseball in the modern area.Jack 🤪 Roosevelt Robinson was an American professional baseball player who became the first African-American to play in major league baseball in the modern era. He truly integrated baseball when he started at first base for the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947. I think this is really interesting because my grandparents were born around that time so it really hits home for me that this wasn’t too long ago! He was inducted in the baseball Hall of Fame in 1962. During his 10 year MLB career Robinson won the inaugural rookie of the year award in 1947 and he was also an all-star for six consecutive seasons from 1949 through 1954 and he won the national league most valuable player award in 1949. Robinson would go on to play in six World Series and contributed to the Dodgers 1955 World Series championship. Now this is one of my favorite fun facts but the MLB retired his uniform number 42 across all major league teams and was one of the first athletes to do so! that sparked a new annual tradition called “Jackie Robinson Day”. I could go on for days talking about this man but I’ll let you guys get a chance to comment down your favorite Jackie Robinson fun facts⬇️⬇️⬇️
