First of all I’m sorry I have not posted in a bit. On the night of August 2nd I experienced one of the most horrific nights as a mom. My 15yo daughter was sexually assaulted by a 57yo coworker at work. I can not express to you the emotions that have followed this horrific situation in my house! The sadness, anger and hate that I developed became so toxic. I am not the type of person to carry hate and anger in my heart, but my heart is broken and hurting for my daughter! This man is still walking around my small community while I sit around on red tape and the law! I have screamed and yelled in the middle of the forest at the top of my lungs in pain, I have cried until I couldn’t cry anymore, laid awake with sleepless nights that feel endless and I realize that none of this can take away the hurt and pain that my daughter feels but trying to be strong and make sure she knows that I will be by her side always and forever! No matter how hard you try to protect your kid you really can’t keep them from the cold cruel side of this world. Something so exciting and innocent as a first summer job can turn so ugly and painful.
So here I am a hot mess just trying to take it day by day sometimes even minute by minute. I know my daughter is strong, intelligent and compassionate and will come out of this on top but I hope she will not forget that for as much evil there is in the world there is an equal amount of good!
