Added 2025-04-16 02:42:57 +0000 UTCThere’s something about hearing someone say “you will respect me” or “I will be respected!” that immediately discounts them in my mind. But it also makes me think when we should blindly “respect” someone and when respect should be earned. Shouldn’t it always be earned? Is there a better word that people mean when they use that word (e.g. follow, obey, subordination)?
Then again, it was a scene on a TV show that triggered this thought, not a real life event lol. So take this /r Shower Thought with a grain of salt.
